Bensedin 10mg tablets contain diazepam, a benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety disorders, muscle spasms, seizures, and symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. It works by enhancing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that calms the nervous system.
Uses:
- Management of anxiety disorders
- Relief of muscle spasms
- Control of seizures
- Alleviation of alcohol withdrawal symptoms
Dosage:
- For anxiety: 2 mg taken three times daily, which may be increased to 5–10 mg three times daily.
- For sleep disturbances related to anxiety: 5–15 mg taken once at bedtime.
- For muscle spasms: 2–15 mg daily, divided into 1–3 doses, with a maximum of 20 mg taken three times daily if necessary.
